Playing

How do I play?

Tap a column to play the current card. Keep every stack at 21 or under. Reach the round's target total, then tap Stand. Time left on the clock multiplies your round score. Pass skips a card you can't use; you get a few passes each round, and unused passes carry over.

How do aces and face cards count?

Aces count as 1 or 11, whichever is better for that stack. Jacks, queens and kings count as 10.

Why can't I see my stack totals?

Totals are hidden by default — part of the challenge is keeping count. In Run mode, the Adding Machine Gadget shows totals and the Crystal Ball shows what the current card would make. VoiceOver always reads totals aloud.

What scores extra?

A Natural 21 (an ace and a ten-value card), a Five-Card Charlie (five cards without busting), and a perfect round all add bonuses. In Run mode, Gadgets like Overdrive, Hot Streak and Lucky Sevens add more.

What does "This deck's best" mean?

After each round, StackJack works out the best total that exact deck allowed, so you can see how close you came.

What's the Daily Deal?

One deck for everyone each day, with one ranked try. Your result grid can be shared without spoiling the deck. StackJack Plus lets you play past Daily Deals.

Can I play the original 2013 rules?

Yes: Settings › Original 2013 Classic. Those games are unranked.

Purchases

What does StackJack Plus include?

No ads between games, forever; 3 free bonuses a day without watching an ad; the Daily Deal archive; and an exclusive card back and table. Plus Collector's adds the Wavy Navy card back, the Rocket City Diner table and a supporter badge.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open Shop and tap Restore purchases. Purchases follow your Apple Account across iPhone, iPad and Mac, and work with Family Sharing.

I bought the original StackJack. Do I get Plus?

Yes. If you bought the original paid StackJack, Plus unlocks automatically on the same Apple Account. If it doesn't, tap Restore purchases; if that doesn't work, email us.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are made through Apple, so refunds are requested at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Duels, challenges and Game Center

My friend can't find my Duel.

Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network, and StackJack needs permission to find local devices: on iPhone and iPad, Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network › StackJack; on Mac, System Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network. Some public and office networks block device discovery.

How do challenge codes work?

After a game, share its challenge code or link. Anyone who opens it plays the exact same decks and Gadget offers, and can try to beat your score. No account is needed.

Leaderboards aren't showing.

Leaderboards and achievements need Game Center. Sign in from the Settings app on your device; StackJack never nags you to sign in.

Progress and data

Is my progress saved?

Progress is saved on your device and included in your device backups. Progress doesn't currently sync between devices; purchases do.

How do I turn off statistics or delete my data?

Go to Settings › Privacy & feedback. You can switch off basic and detailed statistics, and Delete my shared data erases anything your installation shared under its random ID. See the Privacy Policy.
