For parents and families

What StackJack is, who it's for, and the controls you have

What StackJack is

StackJack is a fast card puzzle: cards arrive one at a time and you place each one on one of five stacks, trying to get each stack close to 21 without going over before a timer runs out. It's a game of arithmetic, planning and speed.

Who it's for

StackJack is designed for players 13 and older, mainly because it has online leaderboards and frequent contests (daily, weekly and head-to-head challenges). It is not made for or directed to young children. The App Store age rating shown on StackJack's product page is the official rating for your region.

What's in it — and what isn't

  • No gambling. There's no betting, no chips, no wagers, no prizes and no real money. Nothing can be won or cashed out.
  • No chat or messaging. Players can't send each other messages, and there are no user profiles inside the game.
  • Duels are local only. Head-to-head Duels work only between devices on the same Wi-Fi network, such as at home. Challenge codes are short codes a player chooses to share; they contain only a game mode, a deck and a score.
  • Leaderboards use Apple Game Center, which is optional and controlled by your child's Game Center and Screen Time settings.
  • No energy or waiting. The game doesn't limit play to push purchases, and nothing you can buy makes a player stronger.
  • Streaks are gentle. Missing a day of the Daily Deal never takes anything away; a streak simply restarts.

Purchases

StackJack is free. There are two optional one-time purchases, StackJack Plus ($4.99) and Plus Collector's ($9.99), which remove ads between games and add cosmetic extras. There are no subscriptions, loot boxes or random paid items. All purchases go through Apple, so you can:

  • turn on Ask to Buy in Family Sharing so you approve each purchase;
  • block in-app purchases in Settings › Screen Time › Content & Privacy Restrictions › iTunes & App Store Purchases;
  • request refunds from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Advertising

The current version of StackJack shows no third-party ads. If we add ads in the future, they will appear only between games, never during a round; players who tell us they're under 13 would see only non-personalized, age-appropriate ads; and we'll block categories like gambling, dating and alcohol. We'll update our Privacy Policy before any change.

Children's privacy

  • StackJack has no accounts and doesn't ask for a name, email or phone number to play. Progress stays on the device.
  • Optional statistics are anonymous by default. If a player says they're under 13 in the optional "About you" questions, the app never shares detailed statistics or those answers, and in many regions sends nothing at all.
  • We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 that would require parental consent under COPPA. If you believe your child sent us personal information — for example, an email address in a feedback message — email privacy@stackjack.app and we'll delete it.

The full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Screen time

A Classic round lasts about a minute, and the Daily Deal is a single short game a day. You can set app limits for StackJack in Settings › Screen Time, and the game pauses automatically when it leaves the screen.
