StackJack and stackjack.app

In the game

  • VoiceOver: cards, stacks, stack totals, the deck and the Hold Slot are labelled, and VoiceOver reads stack totals even when they're hidden on screen. Labels are translated into Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.
  • Larger Text: menu screens follow Dynamic Type, tested at the largest accessibility sizes. Cards use large, high-contrast ranks and suits drawn in code, never baked into art.
  • Reduce Motion: when it's on, card flights become quick fades, and confetti, shakes, pulses and tilted callouts are turned off. Sounds and haptics stay.
  • Colour and contrast: Apple's automated accessibility audit passes with zero issues on the home and game screens. Busted stacks are marked with a "BUST" label as well as colour.
  • Keyboard: full play on iPad and Mac with 1–5, P/Space, S/Return, H, F, Z and Esc, plus pointer hover highlighting on Mac and iPad.
  • Time pressure: Zen mode has no clock at all, and Endless has no clock. The game pauses whenever it leaves the screen.
  • Before standing early: the game asks you to confirm before you Stand below the target.

This website

We aim for stackjack.app to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. The site uses semantic headings and landmarks, a skip link, text alternatives for meaningful images, visible focus indicators, readable contrast, and no content that relies on hover. It respects your device's reduced-motion setting and works without JavaScript.

If something on the site or in the game is hard to use with your assistive technology, please tell us at support@stackjack.app. We read every message and will try to fix it or find you an alternative.
